As early as 2004, in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), members of the National Cybersecurity Preparedness Consortium (NCPC) have developed DHS/FEMA certified online and face-to-face training courses. These courses have been delivered to states, counties, local jurisdictions and critical infrastructure components nationwide to address cybersecurity and cyber terrorism concerns.
The mission is to provide research-based cybersecurity training, exercises and technical assistance to local jurisdiction, counties, states and the private sector. These training courses are made available at no cost to participants.
The NCPC courses cover five topic areas: awareness; coordination and planning; cyber incident response and recovery; infrastructure technical training; and cyber threat information sharing. To learn more about the courses and register for training, visit the NCPC website at NationalCPC.org/courses.
The NCPC Partners
The NCPC consist of five universities across the United States. These partner organizations are:
- The Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security (CIAS) at the University of Texas at San Antonio
- The Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center (NERRTC)
- The University of Memphis Center for Information Assurance (CflA)
